The Salvation Army has been serving the Monterey Peninsula since 1895. Through our various programs we serve the homeless, low-income families and youth of all ages. In addition to providing social services, The Salvation Army is a church and has programs all throughout the week and church services on Sunday.

If you are interested in sending your child to Summer Day Camp at The Salvation Army be sure to check out our Youth Center.
Summer Day Camp 2008 runs from June 9th-August 1st. We have daily activities for the kids ranging from educational games to music and sports. We will also be taking numerous field trips to places such as Great America and Big Sur. Contact Daniel Hammond at 831-899-1335 ext. 1718 if you are interested in volunteering with us this summer.

With summer just around the corner, the Youth Center is still looking for day camp scholarships for children this summer. Many Youth Center families are facing a difficult time in our current economy, including foreclosure of homes, gas bills and hours being cut at work. Although our day camp is very reasonably priced at $50/week, the reality is that some of our families cannot afford that amount. Will YOU please support a child for day camp this summer? There are different levels of support, any of which would be extremely helpfully.
