The Salvation Army has been at work the Monterey Peninsula since 1895. We serve the homeless, low-income families and youth of all ages through our various programs. In addition to providing social services, The Salvation Army is a church and has programs all throughout the week and church services on Sunday. Homeless numbers up 71 percent in Monterey County (via The Salinas Californian)

The number of homeless people tallied in Monterey County has increased 71 percent over the past two years, according to a census released this week.
